On Tuesday, May 6, officials in Hyderabad launched a major demolition drive in the Gachibowli area. The operation focused on removing unauthorized buildings in the Fertilizers Corporation of India Employees Cooperative Housing Society layout, located near the Sandhya Convention zone.

The local enforcement team, known as Hydra, acted after several plot owners complained about illegal construction on land not included in the approved housing layout. Residents reported that some individuals had started building structures without proper permissions.

During the operation, Hydra officials tore down several unapproved constructions. This included the complete demolition of the Sandhya Convention Mini Hall, along with its kitchen and restrooms. They also removed illegally placed reed fencing and other encroachments found on roads and parks within the society layout.

Authorities confirmed that the demolished buildings lacked proper permits and violated local planning rules. They emphasized that such illegal developments disrupt the layout’s infrastructure and reduce public space.

The crackdown sends a strong message to builders and residents that unauthorized construction will not be tolerated in Hyderabad. Officials urged property owners to follow legal procedures and verify approvals before starting any new construction.
