The Hyderabad Food Adulteration Surveillance Team (H-FAST) of the Task Force, in coordination with Kulsumpura Police, raided an illegal food manufacturing unit at Jiyaguda on Thursday. The unit was found operating under extremely unhygienic conditions without any valid licenses, preparing samosas using spoiled ingredients that posed serious health risks to consumers.
During the operation, officials discovered that the unit was engaged in large-scale samosa production without possessing any FSSAI license, Trade License, or Fire Safety clearance. The accused, identified as Abdul Rasheed, aged 73 years, was found using substandard and contaminated materials in the preparation of food items sold across various parts of the city.
The raid revealed shocking conditions inside the manufacturing unit. Authorities found 500 spoiled boiled eggs and 5 kg of repeatedly used cooking oil being utilized in the preparation of samosas. The use of such contaminated ingredients posed severe health hazards to unsuspecting consumers who purchased these products from local vendors.
Officials seized a substantial quantity of prepared and raw materials from the premises. The seizure included 350 egg samosas, 600 sweet corn samosas, and 1000 onion samosas that were ready for distribution. Additionally, raw materials such as 50 kg of maida, 4 bags of salt, 2000 samosa pattis, and 10 kg of unhygienic sweet corn were confiscated from the site.
The manufacturing equipment used in the illegal operation was also seized by the authorities. This included a fryer, onion cutting machine, and various cooking utensils. The total approximate value of all seized materials and equipment amounts to ₹5 lakh, according to the official statement released by the Task Force.
The H-FAST Task Force Team of Hyderabad City Police has been actively conducting surveillance operations to identify and shut down illegal food manufacturing units operating without proper licenses and hygiene standards. This raid is part of an ongoing effort to ensure food safety and protect public health in the city.
The accused has been apprehended and taken into custody by the authorities. Legal action is being initiated against Abdul Rasheed for operating an illegal food manufacturing unit and endangering public health by using contaminated ingredients. The case has been registered at Kulsumpura Police Station, where further investigation is currently in progress.

The authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and purchase food items only from licensed and hygienic establishments to avoid health risks associated with illegally manufactured food products.
