In a major success for the police, the Commissioner’s Task Force, South West Team, and Gudimalkapur Police have caught five robbers involved in a big robbery case in Gudimalkapur. These suspects are accused of stealing a large amount of money from a person by using an air pistol to scare them.
The police worked carefully to arrest the suspects and managed to recover Rs. 43,80,000 in cash. They also seized three iPhone 15 Pro mobile phones, an Apple iPod, an air pistol, a Honda Activa bike, and some clothes used in the crime. Altogether, the items they seized are worth Rs. 48,30,000.
Details of the Accused
The police have identified the five suspects as:
1. Sardar Harpreet Singh Rishi, 22 years old, unemployed, living in Sikh Chowni, Kishan Bagh, Attapur, Hyderabad.
2. Sardar Manpreet Singh, 25 years old, unemployed, from Nanded District, Maharashtra.
3. Sardar Gurjeet Singh Raj, 21 years old, unemployed, brother of Harpreet, living in Hyderabad.
4. Mohammed Ghufraan Ilahi (@ Abbu), 20 years old, a student from RTC X Road, Hyderabad.
5. Shravan Deshetty, 19 years old, employed, living in Jiyaguda, Karwan, Hyderabad.
How the Robbery Happened
According to the police, Harpreet and Gurjeet are brothers, and Harpreet and Manpreet are friends. Shravan, who used to work at Tibarumal Jewellers, gave the group important information about the victim’s daily cash routines. This helped them plan the robbery.
On the evening of August 30, 2024, the suspects wore helmets and black jackets to hide their identities. They approached the victim as he was about to stop for snacks. Using the air pistol to threaten him, they grabbed his cash bag and quickly escaped on a motorcycle.
Arrest and Investigation
Thanks to a quick tip-off, the Task Force was able to catch the gang and recover the stolen money and items. The case is now being investigated and has been registered as Crime No. 418/2024 at the Gudimalkapur Police Station under the relevant legal sections.
The operation was led by Sri. YVS Sudheendra, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad City, along with Sri. G. Chandra Mohan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, and other inspecting officers from the South West Zone Task Force.
