In Hyderabad, a significant announcement followed the opening of the Telangana Jagruti office by BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha. On Sunday, she introduced the United Phule Front (UPF) as a partner organization and revealed its new leadership.
Kavitha had earlier written to her father, making bold remarks about the party leadership. On Saturday, she launched the Jagruti office in Banjara Hills. She stated that her organization would operate alongside the BRS with support from all affiliated groups, including those representing Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians. The UPF, now an affiliate of Telangana Jagruti, held a meeting where Kavitha disclosed the new UPF leadership. Bolla Sivashankar was named Convener, Alakunta Hari as Coordinator, Gattu Ramachandra Rao as Advisor, with 50 co-conveners appointed.
Kavitha emphasized that the joint efforts of Telangana Jagruti and UPF led to the Congress government enacting bills for 42% BC reservations in local governance, education, and jobs. She vowed that both organizations would persist in their activism until these measures were fully enforced. She criticized the NDA at the central level and the Congress in Telangana for allegedly stalling the BC bills. She mentioned that her group has been advocating for the BC bill for over a year.
Kavitha announced plans to implement the BC Bills soon. UPF Convener Bolla Sivashankar reaffirmed their commitment to uniting efforts for BC reservations. He accused the central and state governments of working against these enhanced reservations and pledged to mobilize BC communities for this cause.
Separately, Kavitha addressed a letter to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. She urged the cancellation of tenders related to Monsoon emergency teams and immediate repair teams, suggesting they be reissued according to wards.
