Hyderabad: Union Minister Kishan Reddy has called for efforts to build a society free from begging. He said this can be done by promoting human values and the teachings of Sanatana Dharma.
On Tuesday, education experts from Sphoorthi and Vijetha Vidya Sansthan met to discuss how to reduce begging in society. They also talked about the importance of living by moral values and creating a better future, which they called the Dharma Yuga.
During the event, Minister Kishan Reddy released a series of educational lessons created by well-known music director Vande Mataram Srinivas. These lessons aim to raise awareness about the struggles of people who beg and the need for compassion in society. The Minister praised everyone involved for their work.
Speakers at the meeting talked about the difficult lives of children who are abandoned by their parents, and parents who are separated from their children. Many of them are forced to beg to survive. Some of these individuals are also physically or mentally challenged.
To help, volunteers are placing children in orphanages and enrolling school-age children in Gurukul schools. Younger kids are also being cared for in shelters. This work is being supported by volunteers, local communities, businesses, and schools.
The participants urged police, city officials, and government workers to support this cause. A special song written by Vande Mataram Srinivas, focusing on these issues, was played for Kishan Reddy. A short film on the same topic has also been made.
Those present at the meeting included Ramakrishnam Raju, head of Sphoorthi and Vijetha educational institutions, along with Vande Mataram Srinivas, Mudigonda Visveswara Shastri, Sudheer Varma, Nanda, Kishore, and others.
