Hyderabad: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy is worried about the troubles people in Telangana are facing due to heavy rains in the last two days. On Thursday, he asked for quick and organized help to protect people and their belongings in flooded areas.
Reddy mentioned that the government is already working on relief efforts, and BJP workers are helping too. He requested the Telangana state government to move people from danger zones, provide food, and ensure necessary services are available.
He asked Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to send top officials to manage relief work directly. Direct supervision is crucial for timely and effective help, he said.
Following Union Home Minister Amit Shah‘s instructions, seven National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams are now deployed in the state. These teams are working with local officials to help flood victims. The teams are positioned as follows: one in Khammam, two in Bhadradri Kothagudem, and one each in Nirmal, Mulugu, Hyderabad, and Mahabubabad.
Each NDRF team includes 50 members, such as structural engineers, technicians, electricians, dog units, mechanical experts, and paramedics.
Reddy also advised people to stay alert, especially those in villages near rivers and streams. With more rain expected in the next two days, he highlighted the need for increased caution and readiness.
The Minister reassured that the Centre is committed to helping Telangana during this challenging time and called for joint efforts to lessen the flood’s effects and ensure public safety.
