Hyderabad: Union Minister and BJP Telangana president Kishan Reddy strongly criticized the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Congress party on Sunday. He accused them of helping the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) by not putting up their own candidates in the ongoing Hyderabad MLC (Member of Legislative Council) elections.
Speaking to the media, Reddy claimed that the BRS was pressuring elected corporators not to vote. He called this behavior a betrayal of the people who had elected them. “This is nothing but an insult to the people who voted and brought these corporators to power,” he stated.
Reddy also questioned the secular values of both the Congress and the BRS. He accused them of supporting a “communal party” like AIMIM, which he said goes against the idea of secularism. “People did not vote for Congress or BRS to support MIM. How can these two parties claim to be secular when they are siding with a party known for its communal politics?” he asked.
These comments come at a time of growing political tension in Hyderabad, as the BJP has entered the MLC race and is trying to gain support from opposition councillors.
