Hyderabad: The Revenue Department has finished statewide meetings to address land issues after the Bhu Bharati Act was introduced.
Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced that about 8.58 lakh applications were received during over 10,000 meetings. Khammam and Bhadradri-Kothagudem districts had the highest number of grievances with 67,000 and 61,000 applications. Next were Warangal with 54,000, Jayashankar Bhupalapally with 48,000, and Nalgonda with 42,000 applications. Over 60% of these issues have been resolved, except for Sadabainama cases. During a review meeting at the Secretariat, Srinivas Reddy stated that the Act is being gradually implemented since its start on April 14. In the first phase, from April 17 to 30, about 12,000 applications were received in 72 meetings across four mandals. The second phase began on May 5, collecting 46,000 applications in 414 meetings across 28 mandals.
From June 3 to 20, meetings were held in 10,239 villages across 561 mandals, gathering eight lakh applications. Overall, 10,725 meetings took place in 593 mandals across three phases.
Before each meeting, free application forms were given to farmers in their villages. Special teams, led by MROs, collected applications and issued receipts. So far, 3.27 lakh applications have been registered online. Officials are working to quickly register the remaining applications.
