    Hyderabad: A large and peaceful protest took place on Sunday at New Hafeezpet, where thousands of people gathered to oppose the changes made to the Waqf Amendment Act. The protestors called for the government to cancel the amendments.

    The event was organised by the Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) along with support from local social and political groups. People from different communities joined together to show their concern about the new law.

    During the rally, speakers stressed the importance of staying united and continuing to peacefully resist the changes. A member of the SIO said, “The amendment puts Waqf properties at risk. These properties are important for helping the community and are closely tied to our religion. We won’t stay quiet until the law is taken back.”

    The protest ended with a strong promise from everyone present to keep fighting the law through legal action and peaceful protests until the government decides to repeal it.
