    Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, the Vice-Chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), recently spoke about the importance of Urdu. He said that Urdu is not a weakness, but a strength. He made this statement during the closing ceremony of a week-long Skill Development Workshop on Translation (Indian Languages) on May 27, 2023. The Department of English of MANUU organized this workshop in collaboration with the National Translation Mission and the Central Institute of Indian Languages in Mysuru. The workshop began on May 22 and aimed to develop translation skills.

    During the closing ceremony, Prof. Hasan also released the English translation of a Russian book titled “Astronomy Olympiads” by V G Surdin. The event was a success, and attendees learned valuable skills that will improve their translation abilities.

    Urdu plays a vital role in our society, and its importance cannot be underestimated. Prof. Hasan’s statement highlights the significance of Urdu and its contribution to our culture and heritage.
