Hyderabad: The Telangana government is taking major steps to resolve long-standing land issues across the state. As a key part of this effort, the government will recruit 5,000 licensed surveyors in the first phase.
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced the plan during a meeting with officials on Thursday. He said the new surveyors will help villages that currently lack proper land maps and records.
Training for these surveyors will begin on May 26 at district centers. The training will last for two months, and selected candidates are encouraged to contact their respective district survey officers on Monday for further details.
After completing their training, each mandal will receive six to eight licensed surveyors. These professionals will handle land measurements and oversee property transactions to ensure clarity and legality.
The Minister said this move will help villages and urban areas across the state achieve permanent land settlements, especially in panchayats where land disputes are still common.
He also pointed out that many villages haven’t had a proper land survey since the Nizam era. The government is now conducting re-surveys in 413 villages that still lack official land records.
Some villages chosen for this pilot project include:
– Salar Nagar in Gandid mandal, Mahabubnagar district
– Kommanapalli (Kothadi) in Bheerpur mandal, Jagityal district
– Mulugumada in Yerrupalem mandal, Khammam district
– Nuguru in Venkatapuram mandal, Mulugu district
– Shahid Nagar in Vatpally mandal, Sangareddy district
The government hopes this initiative will bring long-awaited clarity and fairness to land ownership and usage across Telangana.
