On Sunday, Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries, Ravneet Singh, flagged off a special pilgrim train called the ‘Takht Special’ from Hazur Sahib Nanded station. This train is unique as it is the first of its kind, and it is dedicated to taking devotees to five important Sikh shrines.
The ‘Takht Special’ was launched in honor of the Guru Granth Sahibji Maharaj ke Phele Parkash Parv. The train will travel from Huzoor Sahib Nanded to five sacred sites, including Patna Sahib, Anandpur Sahib, Damdama Sahib, and Amritsar Sahib.
This pilgrimage journey will last for 12 days, accommodating 1,300 devotees without any charge. At each stop, over 20,000 devotees are expected to come and pay their respects. The first coach of the train is a special saloon where the Guru Granth Sahib will be placed for the journey. Additionally, Langar (free communal meals) will be provided to devotees in the pantry car. Every coach is also equipped with speakers so that passengers can listen to kirtans (spiritual hymns) during the journey.
The train started its journey on August 25 and will complete its trip on September 6, returning to Nanded. It will cover the holy sites of Patna Sahib, Anandpur Sahib, Fatehgarh Sahib, Damdama Sahib, and Amritsar Sahib.
Ravneet Singh mentioned that this special train is a tribute by the Indian Railways to promote spirituality, culture, and nationalism. He added that the railways are making every effort to ensure a comfortable and convenient travel experience for the people of the region.
