    A new Laparoscopic Unit has opened at the Government General Hospital in Nalgonda, significantly enhancing local healthcare services. This high-tech facility was launched on Monday, thanks to the efforts of the Prateek Foundation. The inauguration ceremony was led by Dr. Nageshwar Reddy, a Padma Vibhushan awardee, with Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy as the chief guest.

    Minister Komatireddy spoke to medical students, emphasizing the need for accessible healthcare. He proudly noted that the new unit offers cutting-edge technology not commonly found in even some corporate hospitals. He highlighted the State Government’s commitment to providing top-tier healthcare to underprivileged patients. His ongoing initiatives to improve Nalgonda’s medical infrastructure include a new Government Medical College, a 40 Crore Nursing College, and upgrades to the District Government Hospital. Now, minor surgeries can be performed locally, aiding the poor through Prateek Foundation’s efforts.

    During the event, Dr. Nageshwar Reddy praised Minister Komatireddy as a compassionate leader dedicated to helping the needy. Dr. Reddy pointed out the advanced 4K technology of the Laparoscopic Unit, noting its rarity even in leading hospitals. He shared his motivation for founding AIG Hospitals after leaving a promising overseas career, aiming to provide affordable treatment and opportunities for medical students. “I am adopting Nalgonda Medical College to give students access to hands-on internships and research at AIG Hospitals,” he declared.

    The Minister praised Dr. Reddy as a global expert and researcher, describing him as a symbol of selfless service. He encouraged students to learn from such leaders and strive for their aspirations with dedication and humility, always serving society.

    Renowned Gastroenterologist Dr. G.V. Rao also attended, applauding the government’s efforts. He stated that the new facilities would enhance surgical capabilities and greatly assist underprivileged patients in Nalgonda and nearby regions.

    Minister Komatireddy expressed deep gratitude to Dr. Nageshwar Reddy for visiting Nalgonda and inspiring medical students with his knowledge and vision.

    The event was attended by several notable figures, including Additional Collector J. Srinivas, Hospital Superintendent Arunakumari, DMHO Dr. Putla Srinivas, DCHS Matrunayak, Principal Satyanarayana of Nalgonda Government Medical College, District Library Society President Hafeez Khan, RDO Y. Ashok Reddy, Vice Principal Radhakrishna, Deputy DMHOs, doctors, and other officials.
