Hyderabad: Visitors at the Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad are facing problems while trying to buy entry tickets. Many people have complained that they are unable to book tickets using the mobile app or through online payment methods. This has caused frustration, especially since the zoo has stopped accepting cash at its ticket counters.

The zoo management recently moved to a fully cashless payment system. The goal is to make ticketing more efficient and secure. Visitors are now expected to use digital payment options such as credit or debit cards, online transfers, or mobile wallets. Zoo officials say this change is meant to reduce the risks and costs of handling cash and to improve the visitor experience.

On average, the zoo welcomes over 6,000 visitors every day. However, many of them are unhappy with the current ticket booking system. Mohammed Jabbar, a resident of Tolichowki, shared that he had trouble using the mobile app during his visit on Sunday. He said the app was slow and unresponsive, and it took several tries before his ticket was confirmed.

Jabbar also mentioned that since cash is no longer accepted, many visitors were caught off guard and had to struggle to get their tickets. Another visitor, Vijay Kumar from Kukatpally, faced the same issue. Families and tourists, especially those unaware of the new policy, were left irritated and disappointed.

Mohammed Ahmed raised concerns about people, including children, standing in long lines under the hot sun while trying to book tickets online. He said that with summer vacations coming up, more families are expected to visit the zoo, and it is important for officials to make the ticketing process easier.

Visitors are now urging zoo authorities to reconsider the cashless policy. They feel that allowing cash payments again—at least as an option—would help improve the overall experience and prevent further inconvenience.
