Mahabubnagar: MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy opened a new Skill Development Centre at NTR Degree College in Mahabubnagar, supported by the Deshpande Foundation. During the launch, he stated that women who become self-reliant earn respect both in society and their families.
The MLA shared that 20 students have joined the first batch of the training program. He is optimistic that this number will grow significantly over time. Reddy aims to train 20,000 students over the next ten years to help them achieve successful careers.
He mentioned that thousands of new companies will soon open along the Green Express Highway from Hyderabad to Alampur. He stressed that Mahabubnagar’s youth should be the first to get jobs in these new industries.
Reddy remembered attending a Deshpande Foundation workshop in Hubli last year. After the workshop, he persuaded Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to start a pilot project in Mahabubnagar. They chose NTR Degree College because most students there come from government schools.
He believes that students from Mahabubnagar are more talented than those in Hyderabad. The Foundation’s training will help them realize their potential. He encouraged students to stay confident, calling the centre a “golden opportunity” that combines education with job prospects.
The MLA promised extra support for orphans and disadvantaged students, even using the educational fund if necessary.
The event was attended by MUDA Chairman Laxman Yadav, District Library Chairman Mallu Narsimha Reddy, NTR Degree College Principal Prof. Rajendra Prasad, Vice Principal Dr. Anuradha, Kakatiya Sandbox Head Sahiti, representatives from the Deshpande Foundation, and many students.
