An unidentified individual vandalized a flexi banner and a Plaster of Paris idol at the Puranapool Darwaza Mysamma Temple on Wednesday midnight at approximately 11:30 PM. The incident occurred in the temple veranda, prompting immediate action from law enforcement authorities. The Kamatipura Police registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.
Police officials have collected CCTV footage and other evidence from the crime scene to identify the perpetrator. According to the investigating team, crucial information regarding the accused has been obtained during the probe. Authorities have confirmed that the offender will be arrested soon as the investigation progresses.
Following the temple incident, a mob of approximately 300 people gathered at the location and vandalized a nearby Chilla. The situation escalated when the crowd attacked police personnel who were attempting to restore order in the area. The violent confrontation resulted in four police personnel sustaining severe injuries during the attack.
A separate case has been registered in connection with the attacks on police officers and the vandalization of the religious structure. Investigating officers have identified the perpetrators involved in the mob violence based on CCTV footage and videos collected from the scene. Authorities have assured that stringent legal action will be taken against all those identified in the investigation.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rajendranagar issued an official press statement clarifying the extent of damage at the temple. The statement confirmed that only the flexi banner and the POP idol in the temple veranda were partially damaged. The idols in the Sanctum Sanctorum (Garbha Gudi) remain safe and undamaged, as the offender did not enter the main temple premises.
Police officials have strongly refuted rumors circulating about the destruction of the main idol. The Hyderabad Police have appealed to citizens not to believe malicious propaganda being spread regarding the incident. Authorities emphasized that there is absolutely no truth to claims that the main idol was destroyed or damaged in any way.
The situation in the area is currently completely under control, according to police officials. Citizens have been requested not to panic and to maintain peace in the locality. Law enforcement agencies have warned that stringent legal action will be taken against individuals spreading fake news on social media regarding the incident.
Police have also cautioned against vigilante actions, stating that those who take the law into their own hands and disrupt law and order will face serious consequences. The DCP Rajendranagar reiterated in the official press statement that authorities are closely monitoring the situation and will ensure that all perpetrators are brought to justice through proper legal channels.
