Hyderabad: BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar emphasized the importance of focusing on students from the start of the academic year. He stressed the need for quality education, nutritious food, and proper accommodation.
On Thursday, the Minister held a video conference with BC Welfare Department officials as schools reopened for the 2025-26 academic year. He urged everyone to aim for high educational standards, especially for those from poor and weaker backgrounds. The government prioritizes infrastructure and teaching facilities, and the Minister urged principals and hostel wardens to pay special attention to students. Field-level workers are encouraged to put in extra effort for the students’ future.
The Minister instructed that textbooks, uniforms, and essential supplies should be provided without delay. State officials must submit monthly reports and ensure students receive education and facilities without any gaps.
Any issues in schools or hostels should be reported immediately to the principal and warden for resolution. If unresolved, the problem should be escalated to district and state levels. Schools lacking proper facilities need identification and improvement. The Minister insisted on cleaning kitchens, water tanks, toilets, and school premises. Accommodation must be well-managed.
