Union Agriculture Minister Visits Flood-Affected Farmers in Krishna District
Union Agriculture Minister, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, visited Kesarpalli village in Krishna district on Friday. This marked his second consecutive day in the area, where he was assessing the damage caused by recent floods.
Chauhan met with farmers who suffered significant crop losses due to the overflowing Budameru stream. The floods led to severe waterlogging, which destroyed crops, including paddy, that had been submerged for more than eight days.
During his visit, Chauhan listened to the farmers and gathered information on the extent of their losses. He assured them that the government would provide support to help them recover.
Chauhan explained that he was visiting on the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to personally assess the situation. He expressed his sympathy for the farmers, noting that he too comes from a farming background and understands their struggles.
The Union Minister further mentioned that both Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Prime Minister Modi were taking the disaster seriously. He encouraged farmers to stay strong and not lose hope, promising that help would come.
Chauhan was accompanied by Minister Atchannaidu, MP Purandeswari, and other officials. The delegation also visited a photo exhibition after meeting with the affected farmers.
