Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy earned strong support from the Backward Classes (BC) communities after the central government agreed to include a caste census in the upcoming national population survey.
Several key leaders visited Revanth Reddy at his residence in Jubilee Hills to show their appreciation. Among them were Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, advisor K Kesava Rao, former MPs V Hanumantha Rao, Anjan Kumar Yadav, and Madhu Yashki. They were joined by Congress MPs, BC MLAs, and corporation chairpersons.
The BC Association’s National President, Jajula Srinivas Goud, along with other BC leaders, also met the Chief Minister. They praised his role in bringing the issue of a caste census to the national spotlight.
The BC leaders said that Revanth Reddy’s active push for caste-based data helped influence the Centre’s decision. His efforts, they added, gave a strong voice to the backward communities across the country.
The announcement of the caste census has become a significant political development, especially for communities that have long demanded updated data for social justice and policy-making.
