Hyderabad experienced its hottest day of the current season on Tuesday, with temperatures soaring above 42 degrees Celsius across multiple areas of the city. Vittalwadi and Musheerabad recorded the highest temperature at 42.6°C, marking the peak of the ongoing heatwave that has gripped the city. Weather authorities have issued warnings as residents continue to battle the scorching heat conditions.
Several other localities in the city also witnessed extreme temperatures, with Chandrayangutta and Yousufguda recording 42.5°C. Multiple areas including Uppal, LB Nagar, Saroornagar, Malakpet, Falaknuma, Begum Bazar, Serlingampally, BHEL, and Begumpet all recorded temperatures of 42.4°C. The widespread nature of the heat indicates that the entire city has been uniformly affected by the intense summer conditions.
The southern and central parts of the city were not spared either, with Charminar and Qutbullapur registering 42.3°C, while Moosapet also recorded the same temperature. Areas such as Kukatpally, Malkajgiri, Secunderabad, and Rajendranagar witnessed temperatures of 42.2°C. Alwal recorded 42.1°C, showing that even the northern suburbs of the city experienced near-identical heat conditions.
Weather forecasters have indicated that tomorrow is expected to be the last day of the current heatwave affecting the city. According to meteorological predictions, temperatures will gradually reduce following this period. The forecast also suggests that thunderstorms are likely to occur in the coming days, which could provide much-needed relief to residents who have been enduring the severe heat conditions.
The extreme temperatures have prompted authorities to advise residents to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours. The anticipated thunderstorms are expected to bring down the mercury levels and provide respite from the intense summer heat that has characterized recent days across Hyderabad and surrounding areas.
