Hyderabad: Union Minister and BJP State President, Kishan Reddy, spoke about the Musi Nidra programme and criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s stance on demolishing houses.
Kishan Reddy mentioned that the Chief Minister has said the demolition of houses will not stop, even if there are obstacles. According to him, the main target of these demolitions is homes belonging to poor people.
Reddy further shared that, for the past four months, the BJP has been offering support to those affected by these demolitions. The party has also organized protests at Dharna Chowk to stand with the people.
“Today, we are participating in a Basti Nidra programme, where we stay with the affected individuals in their homes,” Reddy explained. He said there is a lot of fear among the people about when a bulldozer might come and destroy their homes.
He emphasized that the BJP is a national party dedicated to helping the poor and wants to instill confidence in the community, showing that the party stands with them.
Reddy also criticized the state government for what he believes is a hidden agenda behind the Musi beautification project. He accused the government of trying to launch a real estate initiative under the pretext of beautification. He also pointed out that the government has not addressed important issues such as drainage from Gandipet to Chautuppal, which connects to the Musi River.
He questioned the necessity of spending Rs 1.5 lakh crore on the Musi beautification project, suggesting that the real focus seems to be on demolishing the homes of poor people. He also highlighted Revanth Reddy’s statement that the bulldozer will keep moving forward, even if it faces opposition.
Kishan Reddy concluded by saying that the BJP is holding the Musi Nidra programme to empower people and show that the party is standing by their side.
