Bhadrachalam: Local MLA Dr. Tellam Venkat Rao made surprise visits to various locations in the temple town on Tuesday.
Dr. Rao, along with party leaders, inspected the Multi-Purpose Health Workers (Female) Training School and its hostel. He checked the classrooms, hostel rooms, and toilets. He also talked to students and staff to understand their issues. He then called the Project Officer of ITDA to discuss these problems.
During the visit, Dr. Rao learned that the students were facing several issues. They mentioned slab leaks, poor sanitation in the toilets, and the absence of security staff for years. The students were clearly distressed and requested immediate solutions.
There are 41 female students at the center. The previous government did not fill vacancies for a cook, watchman, and sweepers. Additionally, the Principal was recently transferred.
After visiting the training school, Dr. Rao also inspected Kasturba Vidyalayam. He spoke with staff and students, encouraging them to join the ‘Clean and Green programme.’
