In Hyderabad, BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao has come up with a new plan to keep his party members together. Soon, many of the party’s MLAs will be going on foreign tours.
The purpose of these tours is to prevent MLAs from leaving the BRS party. Recently, the party has faced challenges as some of its members have switched to the Congress party. In the last few months, ten MLAs have left BRS for Congress. Initially, BRS had won 39 seats in the 2023 Assembly elections, but now only 28 MLAs remain. The party also lost a seat after the sitting MLA passed away, and they were unable to win it back. There are rumors that more BRS MLAs are considering joining Congress, so the party is taking steps to stop this from happening.
To tackle the issue of members leaving, the BRS chief plans to send the MLAs on foreign trips. Originally, they were scheduled to visit Japan, but due to reports of earthquakes and tsunami warnings, those plans were canceled. An MLA mentioned, “Sir wanted us to visit foreign countries to learn about the best governance practices. We planned to go to Japan, but the earthquake changed that.”
Party leaders have stated that all 28 MLAs, including KT Rama Rao, the party’s working president, will participate in these tours. The trips are expected to begin in the first week of next month. The party is already arranging travel plans, and MLAs will travel in groups. Even the BRS working president is expected to join them on this trip.
