Hyderabad – A bus conductor from the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) showed great honesty by returning a lost bag filled with cash and jewelry worth nearly ₹13 lakh to its rightful owner.
Venkateshwarlu, the conductor, was working on the Achampet to Hyderabad route. On April 26, after the bus reached the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS), he found an unattended bag left behind by a passenger.
Curious and concerned, Venkateshwarlu checked the contents of the bag. Inside, he discovered gold and silver ornaments, ₹14,800 in cash, and important documents like a birth certificate and educational certificates.
Without hesitation, he called Achampet Depot Manager Murali Durga Prasad to report the lost bag. Following instructions, he handed it over to the station manager at MGBS.
Around the same time, the bag’s owner, Anil Kumar, contacted the depot manager. He explained that he had boarded the bus at Kandukur, got off at CBS, and then went to Kacheguda, forgetting his bag on the bus.
After verifying the details, TGSRTC officials safely returned the bag to Anil Kumar. It contained 14 tolas of gold, 10 tolas of silver, cash, and his son’s documents.
TGSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar praised Venkateshwarlu for his honesty and dedication. He said such acts by staff members help build public trust and respect for the organization.
Other officials present during the appreciation included Executive Director Muni Shekhar, Finance Advisor Vijaya Pushpa, and DM Murali Durga Prasad.
Venkateshwarlu’s actions are being applauded across the state, setting a shining example of integrity and responsibility in public service.
