    Nagar Kurnool: District Collector Badavath Santosh and District SP Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath visited paddy procurement centers in Manganur and Lattupally villages on Saturday to check the progress of the paddy purchase process.

    The District Collector assured that the paddy procurement is running smoothly across Nagarkurnool district. He highlighted that the Telangana State Government is offering a ₹500 bonus per quintal of fine paddy, in addition to the Minimum Support Price (MSP). He also encouraged farmers not to worry, as the payments will be credited directly to their bank accounts within 48 hours of procurement.

    During their surprise inspection of the IKP procurement centers in Manganur and Lattupally, the Collector and SP reviewed the ongoing process and spoke with the staff. They checked the moisture levels of the paddy and instructed officials to make sure there are no problems in the operations.

    The Collector also addressed concerns raised by farmers on-site. He assured them that any issues would be resolved quickly and urged farmers to avoid selling their crops to middlemen. Instead, he encouraged them to sell their paddy at the government procurement centers.

    Farmers were asked to report any issues they encounter at the centers to local authorities immediately. The Collector also directed officials to ensure that tarpaulins and gunny bags are available in advance to properly store the purchased paddy. He emphasized that the paddy must be transported to mills quickly to avoid spoilage due to weather changes.

    The inspection was attended by Nagarkurnool DSP Srinivasulu, IKP APM Rajitha, CC Kalavathi, and other local officials from the mandal and village levels.
