The Civil Supplies Department of Telangana has initiated strict monitoring measures on commercial LPG distribution in Hyderabad following reports of delivery delays and illegal practices. A comprehensive review meeting was convened to address ongoing issues affecting hotels, restaurants, and industrial establishments dependent on commercial LPG cylinders for their daily operations.
M. Stephen Raveendra, Commissioner of Civil Supplies, chaired the crucial meeting where authorities identified significant gaps between depot supply and actual delivery to end consumers. Despite improvements in supply at the depot level, commercial establishments have continued to face delays in receiving their allocated cylinders. The department has now placed all distributors and supply chain operators under enhanced surveillance to ensure timely delivery.
Officials announced that 70 percent of commercial LPG allocation is being actively monitored to guarantee fair distribution across the city. The allocation system has been designed based on historical consumption data from hotels and industrial units, ensuring that genuine commercial users receive adequate supplies. Authorities have assured that any extra supply available at depots will be released immediately to meet urgent demands from registered commercial consumers.
The department has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against black marketing and illegal diversion of commercial LPG cylinders. Authorities have warned distributors and dealers that strict action will be taken against those involved in overpricing or deliberately delaying deliveries to create artificial scarcity. The government has made it clear that such malpractices will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Violators will face severe consequences including immediate license cancellation and criminal prosecution. The Civil Supplies Department has empowered its enforcement teams to conduct surprise inspections and take legal action against anyone found engaging in illegal activities related to commercial LPG distribution. The department has also set up dedicated helplines for consumers to report irregularities in supply or pricing.
The Commissioner of Civil Supplies has called upon all stakeholders including distributors, dealers, and commercial establishments to cooperate with authorities to ensure smooth and uninterrupted supply. The department emphasized that maintaining transparency in the supply chain is essential for protecting the interests of genuine commercial consumers who depend on regular LPG supplies for their business operations.
