Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy visited Bhaggi Khan Basti in Himayat Nagar on Friday to check the progress of a new community hall under construction. This area falls under the Secunderabad Parliament constituency.
During his visit, he criticized the Congress party, accusing them of going beyond political opposition. He claimed they were dragging the military into politics instead of focusing on real issues.
Speaking to reporters, Kishan Reddy said that several development projects in Hyderabad were facing delays due to a lack of funds. He blamed the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Water Works for not receiving enough financial support.
He urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to release funds quickly to speed up work on basic infrastructure like roads, drainage, and street lighting, especially in the city’s slums. He pointed out that even simple repairs like replacing street lights had not been done, despite repeated complaints.
The minister also claimed that many contractors were not being paid, which was halting progress on ongoing projects. He questioned why the government found money to organize beauty pageants, but failed to address the struggles faced by people in underdeveloped areas.
On the issue of Operation Sindoor, Kishan Reddy strongly defended the Indian military. He said that over 140 crore Indians live safely because of the brave soldiers guarding the country’s borders.
He slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for making remarks that, according to him, echoed the views of Pakistan. Kishan Reddy said such comments weaken national unity and insult the sacrifices made by Indian soldiers. He warned that politics should never involve the armed forces.
The minister also said that Pakistan faced global embarrassment after Operation Sindoor. He criticized former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and BRS MLC K. Kavitha for making light of military actions like surgical and air strikes.
Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s questions about aircraft losses during Operation Sindoor, Kishan Reddy said such remarks only serve to demoralize the armed forces and should be strongly condemned.
