Gadwal: Dr. Mallu Ravi, Member of Parliament from Nagarkurnool, said that the new Bhoo Bharati Act – 2025 is aimed at solving land-related problems faced by farmers. He called it a protective shield for the farming community.
He spoke at an awareness meeting about the Bhoo Bharati Act held at the BRS Function Hall in Alampur. The event was attended by Alampur MLA Vijayudu and District Collector B.Y. Santosh. The meeting was organized to help farmers understand the Act and answer their questions.
Dr. Mallu Ravi explained that the Act was launched on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary and is a major step taken by the Telangana government to end long-standing land disputes and support farmers. He said that many farmers had faced difficulties with the previous Dharani portal system, often visiting government offices without getting help.
He added that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s government is working with a pro-farmer approach. The Bhoo Bharati Act focuses on solving issues related to Sadabainama lands and was drafted after careful study and discussions. Dr. Ravi promised weekly reviews of land issue resolutions, which he will personally supervise along with the Collector and Tehsildars.
Dr. Ravi also criticized the former government, saying it left the state with a debt of Rs. 8 lakh crore. Despite the financial pressure, he said the current government is fulfilling its promises. He listed several welfare programs, including:
– Rs. 21,000 crore farm loan waiver
– Rythu Bharosa financial aid
– Rs. 500 bonus for fine rice (Sanna)
– Indiramma housing scheme
– Rs. 500 gas cylinder subsidy
– 200 units of free electricity
– Free bus travel for women
– 40% increase in mess charges for students
– Integrated Gurukul educational institutions
– Affordable fine rice through ration shops
– Large-scale job recruitment
– Rajiv Aarogyasri health insurance up to Rs. 10 lakh
– Rajiv Yuva Vikasam employment program for youth
He said the government is focused on helping farmers, poor families, women, and the youth, and that public welfare is its top priority.
District Collector B.Y. Santosh said that the Bhoo Bharati Act will replace the Dharani system. The new law will give farmers clear ownership rights and help solve land disputes faster. He said the Act includes 23 Sections and 18 Rules, and a new digital system called “Bhoodar” is being developed. This system will store detailed land information like boundaries and ownership, similar to how Aadhaar works for people.
He noted that:
– Sadabainama land issues will be resolved quickly
– Heirship and land ownership changes will be completed in fixed timelines
– Unlike Dharani, the new system allows farmers to appeal decisions
If a farmer is unhappy with a decision made by a Tehsildar, they can appeal to the RDO and then to the District Collector. The Act also provides for:
– Fixing errors in land records
– Mandatory land surveys and maps before registration or mutation
He encouraged farmers to take full advantage of the Act to resolve their land issues locally.
Earlier in the day, MP Mallu Ravi visited the Jogulamba temple in Alampur and offered special prayers.
MLA Vijayudu asked people from all villages in the Alampur constituency to learn about the Bhoo Bharati Act thoroughly so that they can solve long-standing land problems.
The event was also attended by several officials, including:
– Additional Collector Lakshmi Narayana
– RDO Srinivasa Rao
– DCCB Chairman Vishnu Vardhan Reddy
– Library Association Chairman Neeli Srinivasulu
– Alampur Market Yard Chairman Doddappa
– Alampur Tehsildar Manjula
– Municipal Commissioner Chandrashekar
