Hyderabad is gearing up for significant changes in its infrastructure. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is advancing the Rasoolpura flyover project under the Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) plan. Commissioner RV Karnan has instructed officials to speed up the land acquisition process.
On Thursday, as part of the Secunderabad Railway Station upgrade, Karnan checked local bus stops and monitored ongoing infrastructure projects. He visited the future site of the Rasoolpura flyover and urged immediate action on land acquisition.
Officials reported to the Commissioner that they need a 24-meter strip of land from the railway’s boundary for this project.
Project SE Srinivas requested alternative land for the current bus stop to enable its relocation smoothly. The site visit aimed to ensure infrastructure work progresses efficiently with minimal disruption.
The Rasoolpura flyover project, proposed in 2019 under the BRS government, faces delays. The transfer of 1.62 acres from the Inter-State Police Wireless Staff Quarters to GHMC is pending.
Last month, Commissioner Karnan, alongside Zonal Commissioner Ravi Kiran, inspected various projects in the Secunderabad zone.
The review included areas like Tarnaka, Chilkalguda, Patigadda, Rasoolpura, and Prakash Nagar. Karnan examined the Tarnaka Junction Island construction, landscaping plans, and the proposed Chilkalguda H-CITI Road under Bridge (RuB) site. He also evaluated the proposed AOC Road, Rasoolpura flyover site, alignment work, and land needed for the Patigadda Railway Over Bridge expansion.
Karnan instructed officials to tackle waterlogging issues near Prakash Nagar and Hyderabad Public School (HPS) by starting desilting work right away.
The state government has approved 23 projects under the H-CITI initiative, with a budget of Rs 5,942 crore, surpassing the previous allocation of Rs 4,305 crore.
