Hyderabad: Dr. Jitender, the Telangana State Director General of Police, praised officers for keeping peace and order in the first six months of the year. He led a crime review meeting at the DGP office on Wednesday.
During the gathering, the DGP instructed officers to tackle economic crimes and organized crime more actively. He urged them to increase visible policing and prioritize public safety. Special focus was given to the protection of women and children, and the performance of initiatives like She Teams, AHTUs, and Bharosa centers.
ADG Charu Sinha of CID organized the meeting. Key participants included ADG LO Mahesh Bhagwat, ADG Anil Kumar, IG P&L M. Ramesh, SPs from across the state, MZ IG Chandrashekhar Reddy, DIG Tafseer Iqbal, and Cyberabad CPs Avinash Mohanty and G Sudheer Babu. TGCSB Director Shikha Goel gave the final presentation. The DGP reviewed crime patterns, law and order issues, and progress in major investigations. Discussions also covered enforcement actions on bodily harm, property crimes, and offenses against women and children.
The meeting highlighted district performance in crime management, crime rate analysis, improving conviction rates, timely charge sheet filing, and better inter-department cooperation.
The DGP stressed using data for crime mapping and better control. He encouraged field officers to enhance accountability, transparency, and service at police stations, aiming to build stronger trust with the public.
