Gadwal: A Broken Bridge Causes Major Problems for Villagers
The interstate highway along the Medikonda route has become a nightmare for locals due to a broken bridge over a stream. The damaged bridge has completely cut off the road, stopping all transportation. This has left children unable to attend school and people unable to reach medical services during emergencies.
Farmers are stuck, unable to get to their fields, and daily wage laborers cannot reach their workplaces. Small traders have no way to travel, and people commuting from places like Mantralayam, Urukunda, Emmiganur, Adoni, Ballari, and Bengaluru are suffering greatly. Even families traveling with infants are facing huge difficulties. Despite all these problems, it seems like no one is paying attention to the situation.
Bridge Delays Cause Major Disruptions in Dharur Mandal
The bridge over the stream between Neelahalli and Patapalem in Dharur Mandal, Jogulamba Gadwal District, has been under construction for three years. While waiting for the bridge to be completed, a temporary dirt road was made by the contractor to allow vehicles to pass. However, continuous rainfall over the past week has washed away this temporary road.
It has been four days since the road was washed away, and still, nothing has been done to fix it. This lack of action is causing severe problems for the villagers. Students cannot reach their colleges in Patapalem, and farmers from Venkatapuram are unable to visit the local bank. The transportation interruption is affecting several villages, including Neelahalli, Mirjapuram, Degadoddi, Maldoddi, Guddemdoddi, Vamanapalli, Narsamdoddi, Chintarevula, and Peddapadu, causing great hardship for daily commuters traveling to Gadwal.
Villagers Urge Authorities to Act Quickly
The situation is causing distress for hundreds of students and farmers who are unable to carry out their daily activities. Villagers from the affected areas are pleading with the District Collector to take immediate action and complete the bridge construction. They hope that this will help restore normal life and allow them to travel safely and without interruptions.
The road is an important link between Telangana’s Gadwal and Karnataka’s Raichur, making it even more crucial for the authorities to speed up the construction. The villagers are asking the District Collector to solve the problem quickly so that students and farmers can resume their daily routines.
