Hyderabad: On Tuesday, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Central Zone, Hyderabad, conducted a detailed review of night patrolling units. This inspection took place at Public Gardens and involved 20 Patrol Cars and 31 Blue Colt bikes from 10 police stations in the Central Zone.
The DCP assessed the condition of the vehicles and the preparedness of the staff. Special focus was on the availability and effectiveness of Anti-Desecration Drill tools, First Aid Kits, and the staff’s ability to perform CPR and use fire extinguishers. DCP K Shilpavalli engaged with the police personnel, emphasizing their critical role as first responders to Dial 112 emergency calls.
The DCP instructed officers to remain smart, alert, and courteous when interacting with the public. Officers were encouraged to engage actively with citizens during their patrols and to conduct public awareness drives about cyber safety, the use of Dial 112, and general safety measures.
Foot patrolling was highlighted as essential for increasing police presence and understanding community issues. Officers were directed to perform quick checks on known offenders, keep their Point Books updated, and install and geo-tag ‘Nenu Saitham’ surveillance cameras to prevent crime.
The DCP stressed the importance of discipline, integrity, and professionalism. Women constables in Patrol Mobile duties received special recognition for their work. Station House Officers were urged to include more women constables in frontline roles. The inspection was attended by the ADCP Central Zone, SHOs from Saifabad, Domalguda, and Gandhinagar Police Stations, and DIs from Lake, Abids, Musheerabad, and Gandhinagar.
